In fall 2023, Colson reached out to me to tell me he was ready to pop the question - and knew exactly where it's going to happen.
He told me that years ago, before ever meeting Kayla, he went on this hike on the Oregon Coast near Cannon Beach - and knew this is where he would ask his future wife to marry him. The cliffside, ocean views, and seclusion of it all made it perfect for a proposal.
They came from Colorado for this location, and I came from Seattle. On the day of - we were in contact throughout the morning, tracking one another's locations and sending 'signals' in messages to communicate but not make anything too obvious.
I got to the location early, hid amongst some bushes high up - and waited patiently for some love birds to make their way down the trail. (Later Colson said I could take a career for a sniper if not a photographer - because he couldn't find my hiding spot for the life of him! 😂)
The leading up moments before the proposal were beautiful. I wasn't too close - but I could hear the giggling, see the holding hands, and could feel the overwhelming amount of peace.
He then proposesd. She said yes. They hugged and cried. Then they saw me sneaking by and I popped up and we all cheered over the wind and ocean sounds.
Magic.
After connecting, we shot some more gorgeous shots over the cliffside - and took advantage of the location we were in.
Colson and I planned to make sure that Kayla had a second outfit - because we were going to do a refresh and then sneak to Cannon Beach for some golden hour romantic images.
And wow. Magic. Again.
Thank you to Colson for trusting me to execute his vision and inviting me into the beautiful moment of proposing to Kayla - this was one truly for the books! Cheers to forever! ✨❤️
