When Lyann reached out to me and told me she’d been wanting to take family photos for a while, there was no time like the present! Lyann was really hoping for green sunshine and a little bit of summer feel to her session.
She and her husband, Jay, packed up their two kiddos, and we met at Discovery Park in Seattle near a little chapel. Complete with apples, green trees, and a bright sunny day. (Peek through and you’ll even notice there are a couple of photographers in this family too!)
Lyann hoped for a session that feels like San Diego—fresh, bright, and with colors that bring energy and excitement. Not wanting to highlight too much of the PNW grayness, we captured this when the season was just right with an open field in late summer.
As we connected about the upcoming session, Lyann shared how much her family loves to laugh and how much they value relationships.
With the sweet intentionality that Lyann and Jay want to model for their kids—relationships built on authenticity, trust, and servanthood—my hope was to capture them naturally as they are...filled with sweet moments, connection, and inside jokes.
And I believe we did just that. ❤️
